Government official guilty of accepting bribes from Digital Vibes in custody, pending sentencing

Former Municipal Infrastructure Support Officer (MISA) Lizeka Tonjeni applied for a passport, in contravention of her bail conditions, just two weeks before she was found guilty of corruption for accepting a bribe from controversial company Digital Vibes.

After sentencing Tonjeni on Friday, the Pretoria Commercial Crimes Court dismissed his bail application pending sentencing because he breached his bail conditions, giving rise to the idea that he might flee.
