Man accused of animal cruelty incident

(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Service has charged a 68-year-old Ottawa man with animal cruelty.

At approximately 9:20 am on May 22.North DakotaOfficers responded to an animal cruelty call in the 400 block of Hazeldean Road.

It appeared that Canada geese had laid eggs in this area, and on May 21, a suspect trampled one of the chicks (baby goose) hatched.

The man has been accused of causing unnecessary pain and suffering to an animal. He is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

Safe Wings Ottawa has safely relocated both parents and the two surviving chicks due to concerns about their safety in their original location.
