Ghanaian media personality, Afia Pokua, known as Vim Lady, has offered advice to Hopeson Adorye following her recent comments following her release.

Adorye had previously boasted of the political benefit gained from his arrest and release, suggesting it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

During a Facebook live video session with his wife, Empress Gifty, the politician described his arrest as a hidden blessing, attracting widespread attention around the world.

However, Vim Lady disagrees with his sentiments, citing possible negative implications for his family, particularly his wife, Empress Gifty, a gospel musician, and for the country as a whole.

“Hopeson, please next time consider the security of the nation and even the emotional effect on your wife for the political benefit you will gain,” he urged.

Even though some netizens encouraged Adorye’s bold statements during the live video, his wife called for restraint and advised him to leave the situation alone.

“Don’t fire them, please. This situation is not easy. If you are not lucky enough to have a strong, God-fearing partner by your side, the person may drop dead. She would not be able to handle it.” Empress Gifty expressed .

Responding to Adorye’s intention to “dismiss” his detractors, Vim Lady echoed Gifty’s plea, emphasizing the importance of following his wife’s advice.

“Listen to your wife,” he reiterated. “That’s why I thought the arrest was unnecessary even though her comment was extreme. The arrest has increased Hopeson’s political capital to do more harm.”

Hopeson Adorye’s arrest followed allegations that he had deployed explosives in the Volta Region to intimidate National Democratic Congress (NDC) supporters ahead of the 2016 elections.

He claimed that this tactic contributed to the victory of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in 2016. Adorye faces charges of spreading false information and has been released on bail.

Maintaining his defiance, Adorye stated that his arrest would not deter him, attributing it to his departure from the NPP.

He alleged that elements within the party were conspiring against him.
