I don’t know Nnamdi Kanu – Minister of Justice, Fagbemi

The Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Lateef Olasunkanmi Fagbemi, SAN, has said that he does not know the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu.

Speaking on the second day of Ministerial Sector Updates, a media event organized to commemorate President Bola Tinubu’s first year in office, Fagbemi also said Kanu’s case and Sowore’s case are not the same.

Without mentioning the case of Sunday Igboho, the Yoruba Nation activist, who was recently released by the Federal Government, the AGF said Kanu was detained under the rule of law.

When asked why people like Omoyele Sowore and Sunday Igboho were released while Kanu remains in the custody of the Department of State Services, the Minister said: “The cases of Nnamdi Kanu and Sowore are not the same. If I see Sowore, I don’t know him, if I see Nnamdi Kanu, I don’t know him.

“Nnamdi Kanu is therefore detained under the rule of law and before the courts.

“Let’s wait for the court’s decision. “No one will be detained outside the laws of the country.”
