Budget point-and-shoot cameras: Leica D-Lux 8

The brand has announced the Leica D-Lux 8 point-and-shoot camera as affordable photography equipment that consumers can purchase this season. The camera, priced at $1,595, maintains a compact design that targets higher-end alternatives on the market to help consumers get started at a competitive price.

The camera is equipped with a Panasonic image sensor that will likely support 4K video recording at 30fps, while the software interface is inspired by what photographers would find in the brand’s more premium Q line. The camera has a leather-wrapped finish and can be used with a variety of accessories that will be released just for the unit.

The Leica D-Lux 8 point-and-shoot camera will be released in stores, online and at authorized dealers starting July 2, 2024.
